Description
Heavy-Duty 100W Mono Power Amplifier Module
The STK4044II is a high-power thick-film hybrid integrated circuit from Sanyo. Capable of delivering a continuous 100 Watts of power, this "Series II" module is designed for maximum stability in demanding audio environments. It is a legendary replacement part for flagship vintage receivers, high-output subwoofers, and professional public address (PA) systems.
The STK4044II is engineered for split-power supply systems and features a built-in constant-current circuit to reduce supply switch-on and switch-off shock noise, protecting your speakers from audible "thumps." Its robust design offers a perfect balance of high-output power and long-term thermal reliability.
Key Technical Features:
- Continuous Power Output: 100W Minimum (at 8Ω, 20Hz to 20kHz, THD = 0.4%).
- Total Harmonic Distortion: 0.4% at full rated power; 0.3% typical at 10W.
- Configuration: Mono (Single Channel) in a 15-pin ZIP/HYB package.
- Frequency Response: 20Hz to 50kHz (+0, -1dB).
- Operating Voltage: Recommended supply of ±51V (Absolute Maximum ±73V).
- Member of Series: Pin-compatible with the 20W to 200W Sanyo series for flexible repair options.
Installation & Safety:
Because the STK4044II generates significant heat at 100W, it must be mounted to a substantial heatsink with high-quality thermal grease. Ensure your power supply rails are healthy and do not exceed the ±51V recommendation to maintain the module's 125°C substrate temperature safety margin.
Technician's Note: Always discharge power supply capacitors before installation. Since this is often a drop-in replacement for legacy Yamaha, Sony, and Pioneer receivers, verify the health of the output emitter resistors to prevent premature failure of the new IC.
