Description
High-Quality 20W+20W Stereo Audio Power Amplifier Module
The STK4412 is a dependable thick-film hybrid integrated circuit from Sanyo's high-performance audio series. Delivering a continuous 20 Watts per channel, this 15-pin module is the definitive replacement for mid-power stereo stages in premium vintage boomboxes, integrated tabletop systems, and shelf-sized receivers from the 1980s and 90s.
Designed with Sanyo's Insulated Metal Substrate Technology (IMST), the STK4412 ensures superior thermal stability while requiring very few external components. It provides a crisp, warm analog sound with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of 1.0% at full power and an impressive frequency response capability up to 100kHz.
Key Technical Features:
- Continuous Power Output: 20W + 20W (at 8Ω, f = 1kHz, THD = 1.0%).
- Configuration: 2-Channel Stereo in a standard 15-Pin SIP (Single In-line Package).
- Audio Precision: Wide bandwidth frequency response from 20Hz to 100kHz (+0, -3dB).
- Low Distortion: Typically 0.3% THD at low output (0.1W) for detailed, low-volume listening.
- Thermal Reliability: Guaranteed operation up to 125°C substrate temperature.
- Recommended Supply Voltage: 44V DC (Absolute Maximum 65V).
Installation & Safety Guide:
At 40W total output, the STK4412 generates significant heat during operation. It must be securely bolted to a clean, flat heatsink or the metal chassis using high-quality thermal silicone grease. Operating this module without a proper heatsink—even for a brief diagnostic test—will result in immediate and permanent internal substrate failure.
Technician's Note: Before installing, verify that your power supply voltage is within the 44V range and discharge all filter capacitors. We recommend checking the output coupling capacitors, as dried-out electrolytic caps in vintage equipment are the primary cause of module stress and audio clipping.
