Description
Premium 40W+40W High-Fidelity Stereo Power Amplifier Module
The STK4893 is an advanced thick-film hybrid integrated circuit from Sanyo's high-fidelity audio series. Delivering a robust 40 Watts per channel, this 16-pin module is designed for audiophile-grade performance in home stereo receivers, high-output bookshelf systems, and professional mixing consoles. It is prized for its clinical signal purity and exceptional dynamic range.
Operating in Class AB, the STK4893 achieves a remarkably low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of just 0.05% (typical), providing a transparent soundstage that is a significant step up from standard Series II modules. Its dual-supply architecture ensures tight, responsive bass and a crystal-clear high-frequency response up to 100kHz.
Key Technical Features:
- Continuous Power Output: 40W + 40W (at 8Ω, 20Hz to 20kHz).
- Ultra-Low Distortion: 0.05% THD typical at rated power for audiophile clarity.
- Dual-Supply Operation: Recommended ±32V DC (Absolute Maximum ±46V).
- Frequency Response: Wide bandwidth from 20Hz to 100kHz (+0, -3dB).
- Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 100dB for a virtually silent noise floor.
- Thermal Advantage: Built on Sanyo's proprietary IMST substrate for high-efficiency heat dissipation.
Installation & Safety Guide:
As a high-output 80W total module, the STK4893 generates significant thermal energy. It must be securely mounted to a clean, flat heatsink using high-quality thermal silicone grease. Operating this module without a proper heatsink—even for a five-second diagnostic check—will cause immediate and permanent internal failure.
Technician's Note: Before installing, verify that your split-rail power supply is symmetrical (e.g., ±32V) and discharge all filter capacitors. We highly recommend checking the output Zobel network and the 0.22Ω emitter resistors, as a short in the previous module often damages these components, which can instantly ruin a new replacement.
